Background information

Learn how artificial intelligence (AI) is being used to translate educational material into multiple languages, making it accessible to students and teachers all over the world.

In this Connect & Learn, Peter Stremus, founder EdukoMondo and Dr. Choojit Sarapak, Professor physics at Surin Rajabhat University in Thailand, share their hands-on experience in using AI to translate STEAM learning videos for remote teachers.

The focus of this session is a practical deep dive into the process, the tool, the workflow, the time, and the cost involved in the project that has spanned for several months.

Peter Stremus

Peter Stremus | Founder EdukoMondo

During his international career in marketing and skills development at high-tech global companies, Peter witnessed from the front seat the rapid but unequal digitisation of our world. In 2019 he founded EdukoMondo, a tech-for-good start-up aiming at bringing the promises of digital education to students and teachers in remote areas. He is now focused on how technology can help to bridge the widening gap between people who have access to education and those who don’t. When he is not working with digits, you will find him restoring his old LandRover, enjoying the analog life. Since January 2022, Peter has been a member of the Educaid.be steering committee as the Dutch-speaking representative of the fourth pillar organisations.

Dr. Choojit Sarapak | Assistant Professor in the Physics Education program at Surin Rajabhat University in Thailand

Dr. Choojit Sarapak obtained her Ph.D. in Science and Technology Education with a specialisation in Physics from Mahidol University in Thailand. Her areas of expertise include Physics education, STEAM education, and 3D Virtual labs. She has actively participated in research and development projects aimed at improving science education. Her research interests revolve around nanoscience, nanotechnology, and exploring innovative teaching methods using virtual reality. She has published several papers in esteemed scientific journals, contributing to the field of physics education and enhancing students’ learning experiences.
